November 21-25


Even though we had a shortened week, due to our Thanksgiving break, we still managed to get a few things done. We read several stories about the first Thanksgiving and determined the differences between the things we have and the things the pilgrims had. Plus we made turkeys out of different kinds of cookies. We also started our preparation for Advent and Christmas by making a countdown chain.

Listened to the story, Thanksgiving on Plymouth Plantation

Reviewed the First Thanksgiving

Completed a worksheet about the story of the first Thanksgiving by gluing the correct picture to complete the sentence

Solved number story problems by acting them out and drawing pictures

Created Turkey Cookies for snack

Religion

Completed our Promise booklet

Discussed the importance of asking for forgiveness and giving forgiveness


Tuesday:

Reading

ap, am, at word family sorting worksheet


Reviewed the story of the First Thanksgiving

Completed a sorting worksheet of items we use now or items from the first Thanksgiving


Math

Solved number story problems by acting them out and drawing pictures

Created a Advent countdown chain using an AB pattern


Religion

Watched a video about the story of creation and Adam & Eve

Reading

-at and -ap work family sorting worksheet

Reviewed details from the first Thanksgiving and watched This is America Charlie Brown: The Mayflower Voyage.

Math

Worked on identifying the characteristics of rectangles and went on a rectangle hunt through different magazines.


Religion

Discussed the life of St. Cecilia, colored her picture, and watched a short video
