This week, we continued our exciting adventure into the world of animal habitats! We explored a variety of environments including forests, deserts, wetlands, and savannas. During our explorations, we discovered the unique plants and animals that make each habitat their home. We also learned about the special features that set each habitat apart from the others.
To bring our learning to life, we created simple dioramas for each habitat. We also kicked off a big project: building our own zoo! The first step in this fun project was choosing which animals we wanted to include. Each student picked four animals, making sure each one came from a different habitat. After selecting our animals, we began crafting the habitats for our zoo.
We will continue working on our zoos over the next few weeks, and we are excited to showcase our creations at the Spring Showcase on March 20th!
A highlight of our week was Discovery Day on Thursday. We were thrilled to welcome a group of preschoolers from our local community. Together, we embarked on an amazing journey to explore the fascinating world of animals, guided by the knowledgeable representatives from Hemker Park and Zoo. It was a wonderful experience for everyone involved!
