December 4-8

We are getting ready for Christmas in the Kindergarten room. We started the week off by learning about wants and needs. Then we created a class book called, All I Want For Christmas. We each wrote a Christmas list with things we really need and things we really want for Christmas. We also wrote about what we would do if we woke up and found Santa stuck in our chimney just like in the story, Santa’s Stuck. We then created a picture of Santa stuck in a chimney. Our week wouldn’t be complete without learning about St. Nicholas and celebrating the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. On Wednesday we arrived at school to treats in our shoes. St. Nicholas taught us that it is more important to give than to receive. Friday was our Advent retreat. We spent the day praying, learning about Jesus, doing a service project, and attending Mass in honor of Mary and her willingness to say “yes” to God.
